Helping Homeless Girls Helping Seniors
Helping Helpers Generates a Compounding Effect
Monica DuPea says, "my recent personal challenge is to empower a few deserving people who have already paid it forward by further deepening their impact, multiplying their ability to help even more people. I want to show, as a result of my influence and your Donor financial support, that we can get even better outcomes. I want to be a catalyst for this community by influencing and harvesting unrealized opportunities through leverage."
What Do We Do?
In personal ways, we reward Founders and/or Executive Directors of local charities who have been paying it forward selflessly for years or decades while giving everything and taking little. Our credentials have been earned through founding and perfecting NYEP over for over 13 years while being obsessed with impacting lives in the long run by developing and optimizing programs that transform unemployable girls into self sustaining productive citizens. From start up in 2007 to our current success, as a by product we have experienced and learned a lot about selfless personal sacrifice, recognition and rewards. From our humble beginnings, we are taking it on the road to influence and guide decision makers in other up and coming charities.
Why Do We Help Helpers Personally
People are generally Givers or Takers. Givers get a sense of purpose and a high level of satisfaction from giving and helping deserving people who are struggling to help and improve themselves or their causes. Givers are generally much more successful and live better personal lives than Takers. Givers are self motivated and have higher self-esteem, higher self-worth and are happier people. Happiness happens regularly to Givers who are mindful of relationships and resources, focusing on providing deserving people with goods and/or services, and seeing their efforts produce desired outcomes.
Monica says, "one reason I am so passionate about helping other helpers is that two of my supporters made it possible for me to buy my own home by giving me the down payment and arranging the financings. Without their help, I likely would be renting forever. This reward inspires me to keep up the good works and created the idea to help other deserving nonprofit workers in such a meaningful way."
One of the easiest and most efficient ways for us to help a lot of other people is to help a few worthy people we call "Helpers". Helpers in charities devote their lives to helping others. When we help these extraordinary Helpers, they in turn pass it on by helping even more recipients. Helping a charity helps the Helper help the charity, and helping the Helpers helps the charity and the Community experiences even greater benefits.
Through years of hard work, problem solving, analyzing, experimenting, and brainstorming, we have become aware that leverage is very useful in creating good impactful changes in the social world. Helping good people personally through transactions creates relationships that buys us influence to be welcomed into guiding and helping them run better non-profits which in turn helps their beneficiaries and the Community. Every organization, method, process, practice, and activity can be improved. For example, too many charities needlessly have high overhead and achieve or impact lives too little. Too many are merely "bird feeders" instead of empowering and transforming their beneficiaries. Too many are not transparent enough nor communicative enough and struggle with credibility and Raising Funds.
How Do We Select and Help Helpers Personally
We select local non-profits that have good track records but possess much more potential. We select individuals who have been and still are running such organizations selflessly and who are eager for guidance and help to increase the good they provide.
We help them buy their first home or perhaps a more reliable car, or health insurance, or some other personal meaningful unforgettable need they have that impacts them now and in their future. Our help is a contractual agreement where these Helpers agree to one or more of the following terms: 1. to improve their organization's transparency by publishing on their website all financial disclosures such as Annual Financial Reports, Federal Tax Returns, [[ add to this list ]] 2. to improve their organization's website to be more user friendly and communicative 3. to improve their ability in Raising Funds. 4. to improve their impact through accountability and results driven practices that create longer term self reliant outcomes for their beneficiaries. 5. eventually repay half of their gifts back to NYEP to be passed on to more Helpers.
